To bring fresh, healthy food into the Greater Hazelwood community at reasonable prices to meet the need for fresh foods, healthy options, and social support in an urban food desert We are a free, unrestricted source of food within the community for all who are in need.

In 2024 we distributed 12,000 lbs. of emergency food to more than 250 families in need. We provided 2,900 free lunches (Grab-and-Go). Our free Meals on Wheels program provided 30,000 meals to our senior and other frail, food-insecure households. We deliver CSFP ("Senior") Boxes to about a dozen of our neighbors each month.

When our Meals on Wheels chef resigned in April 2024 we turned to Community Kitchen Pittsburgh (CKP), located in our neighborhood, to prepare our meals. CKP is a non-profit organization that provides training and job placement in the restaurant industry for persons who may have impediments to employment. A Christian Church moved into our neighborhood and asked us to take over their "Free Food for Everyone" refrigerator - it now sits on our front porch, providing food 24/7/365.

When the YMCA stopped supporting the Hazelwood Food Pantry in January 2025, we assumed control and continue to provide food to over 100 families on the first Saturday of each month.

There is never a charge for our services - we rely on volunteers and donations from people like YOU to provide food to our neighbors in need.
