FOCUS Marines Foundation

A nonprofit organization

Since 2010, the FOCUS Marines Foundation has empowered Marines struggling with transition to create the lives they deserve. We conduct four life-changing sessions each year for wounded post-9/11 veterans, addressing the core issues of combat stress, survivor's guilt, moral injury, and interpersonal relationships. FOCUS works to provide the tools needed to meet and exceed their individual goals of finding employment, coping with life-long injuries, and, most importantly, regaining a sense of hope. More than 1000 Marines, Corpsmen, Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen from across the nation have attended this life-changing course, and here's the best part-they paid nothing out of pocket. FOCUS Marines Foundation has established its relevance within the veteran-support community and will continue to serve our nation's heroes for years to come, because we believe that cost should never be a barrier to healing and empowerment.

The course includes motivational speakers encouraging participants to rise above challenges, reject victimization, adopt positive habits, and be their best version. The course allows Marines to explore and enhance their interpersonal skills, especially regarding families. They realize they are not alone in their challenges and find a vast support network composed of Marines, family, and friends. Participants are encouraged to leave their comfort zone and set goals to which they aspire. They are also coached on practical life skills such as networking, resume writing, interviewing, and other necessary talents. During the week, participants experience renewed hope and direction, develop positive characteristics, experience enhanced self-worth, and recommit to themselves and their families. All costs for this week-long course, including travel and lodging, are paid for by FOCUS Marines Foundation.
