Friends of Lantern Hill, Inc.

The program of Linterna Del Camino (Lantern Hill) strives to keep the children of Canon Buena Vista, Baja Mexico in school instead of working in the fields or factories. During the school year, the program is currently open 3 days a week to provide a safe and loving environment for the students to do their work and receive a warm meal. In the summer, the program is open 4 days a week to enrich the education of the students and provide a warm meal. When the program started, most students dropped out of school between 6th and 8th grade to go to work. Currently Lantern Hill is supporting 3 students in college, 10 more in high school and approximately 100 total in their educational efforts.
