FUR Animal Rescue

FUR Animal Rescue is deeply committed to saving animals in need both at the North Platte Animal Shelter and throughout our community. Every day, we step in for the ones who have been forgotten, abandoned, or left behind. Through rescue, veterinary care, rehabilitation, and careful placement, we fight to ensure every animal we save finds not just a home, but their forever home. We are proud to be a voice FUR the voiceless.

Our mission is to provide life-saving support to unwanted, neglected, and abandoned animals while working to keep the North Platte Animal Shelter a No Kill facility. We partner closely with the shelter, offering veterinary care, networking, and resources that give animals a real chance at a better life.

But our work does not stop there. We are in the community every single day, providing programs that make a lasting impact:

• The FURcility, a dedicated space focused on feline rehabilitation and healing

• SnipItInTheBud, helping reduce overpopulation through spay and neuter for stray and feral cats 

• North Platte Pet Food Pantry, helping families keep their beloved pets at home

• LOST PAWS, working tirelessly to reunite lost pets with the people who love them

• Emergency Fund Program and more, stepping in when animals need urgent medical care

We are also working toward an exciting expansion that will allow us to help even more animals in need. This expansion will create space to safely house owner surrenders when families have nowhere else to turn, along with additional resources to support our growing mission. Our goal is to build a more sustainable future for animals in our community, one where fewer pets fall through the cracks and more lives are saved.

We are a state licensed, all volunteer organization. Every rescue, every transport, every late night and early morning is done by people who care deeply and give their time, energy, and hearts to this mission. We work hard because these animals deserve it.
