Fair Housing Center of Northern Alabama

We strive to work with local communities, housing providers, other related housing fields and the general public in teaching them their rights and responsibilities under the Federal Fair Housing Act. We address the concerns of persons protected under the 7 protected classes; race, national origin, color, religion, sex, disability, and familiar status. 2011 brought about several new specific areas to be addressed; the April tornadoes that devastated our service area and the national origin issues resulting from Alabama's Immigration Act. Much of our efforts have been toward  foreclosure preventions and landlord tenant issues.                                                                             We believe that all who seek housing should have the right to the housing of their choice based upon their ability to obtain it.
