Family Advocacy Network

Every child, every single child deserves to grow and thrive in an environment free of abuse.  The Family Advocacy Network (FAN) works closely with Nebraska law enforcement, Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services and county prosecutors responding as a team to victims of child abuse.  The team approach reduces trauma for the child and family, seeks justice for the family and  begins the healing process.

The Family Advocacy Network is a nationally accredited child advocacy center providing services to 14 central Nebraska counties.  The goals of FAN is to reduce trauma, strengthen families, and successful prosecution of perpetrators.  FAN served 87 Dawson County victims, 54 of those victims were Lexington residents.    

The story of abuse is not "her story" or "his story", when a child is hurt in our community, it is "our" shared story.  When a community agrees child abuse is our shared story, together we can change the life of a child.  It is having a community of individuals who are courageous enough to educate themselves on how to identify child abuse, how to report child abuse and the courage to support their local child advocacy center.  Sending a clear message to victims of child abuse, we will provide the best services to address your needs and help you heal.  To send a message to those who have committed unimaginable acts against a child, we will not tolerate it and we will hold you accountable.  On November 15, 2018, will you be one with courage?
