Ninety percent of deaf or hard of hearing (d/hh) children are born to hearing parents. They are scared and confused about communicating with their child, education and technology options, sign language and Deaf Culture. Our staff members, many of whom are deaf or hard of hearing themselves, help guide parents through raising a child with hearing loss, answer questions and assure them they are not alone. We also work with d/hh children from birth to age 22, providing a wide variety of programs ranging from after school programs and tutoring, to summer camps and social activities. Through these programs, children learn social emotional skills, gain self esteem and make friends who are just like them. They learn that it is ok to be deaf or hard of hearing and that "Deaf people can do anything, except hear".
