Family Crisis Center

We had a function at our facility recently, and a girl of 7 or 8 came walking in our door, asking her mother what we did here.  Without pause the mother answered, "This is a special place that helps families who are hurting."

Family Crisis Center (FCC) is a full service agency, supporting Farmington and the 4 Corners region for 36 years.  Last year, 348 women, children and men who had been victimized by violence from loved ones took refuge with us.  Hundreds of other were counselled and supported.  We also reached out to the community, offering education aimed and making it a safer place to live for all families.

At the same time, funding from grantors has been cut.  We have lost $600,000 in four years.  Two funders this year alone cut more than $130,000 worth of support, after we had passed our budget for the season!  

Yet, FCC is a responsible agency and through internal cuts and other efforts, we managed to pay the bills and keep all programs functioning.  However, as we look at the June 30 end of our fiscal year, we still need to find $25,000 to keep services functioning and the lights on.

 Can you help?

A $5 donation provides a couple of afterschool snack for children in shelter (last year there were 179).  $100 could provide several nights support for a family.  $1000 pays the utilities for a month.
