$10,000 Goal

The strength of our community is the power of your giving.

This year we are raising $10,000 to support our greatest need fund.  The greatest need fund helps us respond to communities when they are experiencing unexpected health emergencies, such as COVID-19, Monkeypox, Hepatitis A outbreaks and even fallout from wildfires.

Your gift helps us treat patients no matter what they can pay.

Our History

In 1970, Laura Rodriguez and a group of Barrio Logan community members sought to bring much-needed medical services to their neighborhood. They occupied a local settlement house and established the Chicano Free Clinic. The Clinic was opened two nights a week, and doctors served about 150 patients each month.

The Chicano Free Clinic became Logan Heights Family Health Center which now stands as the flagship clinic of Family Health Centers of San Diego (FHCSD). Leading with Laura’s vision, FHCSD has transformed into one of the ten largest health centers of its kind in the United States.  We care for over 227,000 patients each year, of whom 91% have low income and 29% are uninsured.

Give today and help your neighbors in need.
