Our Mission:

We create lasting solutions to help individuals and families reach financial freedom through housing support, education, and partnership. 

Family Housing Resources (FHR) supports this vision through two pillars: housing counseling, and multifamily housing. Our knowledgeable and dedicated team offers homeownership counseling, down payment assistance, rental and utility assistance and, home-buying education.

Our property management pillar provides affordable rental housing and related relief for low to moderate-income individuals and families across Tucson and Pima County, giving them an opportunity for security and stability. 

As the needs of our community change, we have continually looked for opportunities to meet those needs by augmenting our legacy homeownership and housing counseling programs with additional support initiatives. Mortgage default counseling was introduced from 2002 through 2018, with reverse mortgage counseling in 2017, in response to the challenges caused by the great recession. The global pandemic adjusted our trajectory a bit, but our goals remained the same, and the call to answer the essential need for ‘staying housed’ was greater than ever. With private funds, we catapulted our COVID-19 emergency rental assistance program into action while partnering with the City of Tucson and Pima County to facilitate their rental and utility assistance programs. Recently, we received approval of a LIHTC loan to renovate one of our multifamily properties, creating better living spaces for our residents. Concurrently, we are launching our new Financial Foundations Program. Its objective is to improve the financial security of low to moderate-income families and individuals while promoting opportunities for building generational wealth.
