Family Promise of Las Vegas

Family Promise of Las Vegas celebrated  our 20th Anniversary in 2016.  We opened our doors in Clark County in 1996 to become one of the first service providers to homeless families with minor children that keeps the family together as we assist them to reach their goals of employment and housing.  We partner with over 20 local congregations, Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, Muslim to provide overnight shelter and meals.  We are one of the few agencies that can help a single father with children. 

1.  Crisis Intervention Interfaith Shelter - provides warm and welcoming safe overnight accomodations with the assistance of over 33 congregations.  Meals are provided also.  Case Management from our Day Center Staff sets goals and helps families achieve jobs and housing.  Over 2,000 community volunteers are engaged in this program, we assist 5 or more families at one time in our shelter program.  Major support for this program comes from our Interfaith Shelter Partners and annually totals over $300,000 of In-Kind value which is volunteer hours, meals provided by congregational volunteers and rooms for our families to have access to safe and secure overnight shelter which keeps them together with no seperation by gender or age.

2.  Community Partnership for Opening Doors          provides sliding scale rental assistance and case management to prevent future homelessness to housed and working families that have recently experienced homelessness.  This program works with up to 10 families.  Our goal is to assist  families to be self-sufficient and able to pay 100% of their monthly rent within 3 months of entering program. 

Our recent audit shows that Ninty Cents of every dollar you give us is used for family services.  When you give to Family Promise of Las Vegas your dollars are also matched by inkind gifts such as furniture for the families apartments, kitchen and bathroom kits and overnight shelter services from over 20 Interfaith Congregations.  Additional information regarding our non-profit can be viewed at Guide Star and at  our website www.fplv.org
