Family Support Line Children's Advocacy Center

Family Support Line operates the only children's advocacy center in Delaware County, PA. Family Support Line's core mission is to advance the prevention and treatment of child sexual abuse. All of the services that Family Support Line provides are free to the community. The continuum of services they offer helps children and families get the help they need to be safe, heal, break the cycle of abuse, and thrive. It also helps ensure that professionals who work with children and families have the support, training, and resources they need to recognize and respond to allegations of abuse, as well as meet the needs of children and families affected by sexual abuse. At Family Support Line Children's Advocacy Center, survivors of child abuse and their loved ones have a safe place to discover that hope and healing are possible. They are dedicated to prioritizing the needs of the child while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team when an allegation of child abuse occurs.

At Family Support Line children who may be victims of child abuse can talk with a trained forensic interviewer about their experiences to make the child abuse investigation process go as smoothly as possible. These cases are referred to Family Support Line by local police, Children and Youth Services, or the District Attorney’s Office. There must be a safe place for children and families to be able to discuss hard things with people who are prioritizing the needs of both the youth and the family, and Family Support Line staff does their best to find out what happened, limit the number of times a child has to tell their story, help the family understand the legal systems, and offer therapy services and resources the aid in the healing journey for children and families.
