Women's Shelter of East Texas, Inc. dba Family Crisis Center of East Texas

The Janelle Grum Family Crisis Center of East Texas is a non-profit organization that empowers survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault by providing crisis intervention and advocacy services. The FCCET also engages the community through education to build awareness and prevent domestic violence and sexual assault. Since 1979, FCCET's vision has been to end the culture of domestic violence and sexual assault and empower survivors. We provide confidential, non-judgmental services that are holistic/comprehensive, victim-centered, trauma-informed, and family-focused, with compassion and respect for every person served. Core values are safety, empowerment, selflessness and integrity.

Free, confidential help and information are available to women, men and families. With outreach offices in Lufkin, Nacogdoches, Crockett and San Augustine, the Family Crisis Center serves anyone in East Texas and beyond who is experiencing violence or loves someone who is experiencing abuse. In 2025, the agency served 973 adults and 523 child survivors, each one facing their own journey of healing. Shelter nights totaled 10,360 from the 343 residential clients seeking safety.

After years of daily use by the many families who pass through our doors, the furniture in the playroom is worn and in need of replacement. This East Texas Giving Day, we are asking for your help to refresh this space with comfortable, durable furniture designed for both children and caregivers.
