Our Mission: Family Advocates works to strengthen families and keep kids safe by empowering everyday people to protect and enrich the lives of youth.

What Do We Do?

Family Advocates has been fighting child abuse and neglect since 1978 through prevention and intervention efforts in southwest Idaho. We are able to do this by training volunteers each year to advocate for the best interests of children in foster care, as well as to provide education and resources to parents to prevent child abuse from occurring in the first place. Family Advocates utilizes two key programs in order to accomplish its mission:

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA): Our volunteer Guardians ad Litem provide a voice for children in foster care.  We run this program for the 4th Judicial District of Idaho.  

Family Strengthening Education Program: Our free Family Resiliency Course is the cornerstone of our prevention program. The Five Protective Factors and HOPE framework are the foundation of the course and focus on strengthening families while engaging their strengths as a starting point to build upon.
