At Family Assistance Program our main concern is for the families in our community. Our goal is to provide families with the tools necessary to create and maintain healthy family dynamics. Our program is constantly growing and evolving to better serve the needs of the community. Our programs include domestic violence crisis intervention, awareness and prevention, emergency services for youth in crisis situations such as running away, being kicked out of the home, and homelessness and human trafficking.
Through our Family Center in Victorville, CA, we coordinate our resources and efforts for all of San Bernardino County. We provide support groups, court support, supervised visitation, and several other services to families facing domestic violence and other crisis situations. Our Staff and Domestic Violence Victim’s Advocates work to ensure that all of our clients receive the best care possible. To better serve our community, all of our services are provided in Spanish.
Our Domestic Violence Shelter provides emergency shelter and services to women and their children who have nowhere else to go when facing domestic violence situations. We know that pets are part of the family as well, that’s why we have the only shelter in Southern California that allows and is adapted for pets. Our clients receive individual and group counseling, art healing groups, life-skills classes, and other services as needed.
In Redlands, CA, we have opened Our House, the only licensed shelter for male and female youth, ages 11-17 in San Bernardino County. Youth often face many difficult situations that range from drug use, family problems, domestic violence, sexual orientation issues, that can result in youth facing a crisis situation in which they have been kicked out, or have been forced to run away from a dangerous or violent situation. We provide shelter and services for youth experiencing crisis situations. At Our House youth receive group, individual, and family counseling, life skills classes, art groups, tutoring, case management, and many other services as needed. Our Youth Advocates, Street Outreach Workers, and Commercially and Sexually Exploited Children (CSEC) Advocates are dedicated to providing the best service to youth and their families.
The Fam Spot, our youth dropin center in Victorville, CA, provides a safe, all-inclusive space for youth ages 12-21. The center provides mentoring, tutoring, and employment assistance free of charge, while offering classes covering topics such as teen dating violence, art and music.
The Open Door, works with victims of trafficking and sexual exploitation to help them break free. The survivor/advocates provide mentorship, street outreach, survivor-led groups, case management and court support.
All of our programs allow families to receive help in a nurturing environment while they navigate through difficult and often painful transitions in their lives. By giving your support to Family Assistance Program you are making a difference in the lives of people in Your Community. Thank you.
