FATHER'S LOVE

Since 1997, Father’s Love has been a trusted and transformative presence in the heart of downtown Shelbyville, serving as a safe haven where children and youth are deeply loved, encouraged to dream boldly, and empowered with the tools they need to overcome life’s challenges. Rooted in a faith-based approach, our mission is to provide a nurturing environment alongside comprehensive out-of-school time programming that fosters academic success, personal growth, and spiritual formation.

MISSION AND VISION

Father’s Love exists to bring holistic transformation to children, youth, and families through spiritual development, Christian community development, and strategic partnerships. Our vision is to see every student grow in godly character, be rooted in their identity in Christ, and flourish in leadership to impact their communities and the world.

WHO WE SERVE

Each year, over 100 students from kindergarten through 12th grade participate in our after-school and summer camp programs. These initiatives are intentionally designed to foster positive relationships, promote leadership development, and build resilience—all within a supportive and Christ-centered environment.

CORE PROGRAMS

Father’s Love serves the community through three primary avenues:

Dreamers Rise (Elementary Program)

Dreamers Rise is a holistic program designed for K–5th grade students. Meeting twice a week, it blends educational support, spiritual formation, and enrichment activities. The program also exposes students to a wide range of careers, skills, and creative pursuits, expanding their horizons and empowering them to dream big.

Arise (Middle & High School Program)

Arise is focused on nurturing the faith and future of middle and high school students. Our prayer is that every young person discovers God’s purpose for their life. Through dynamic teaching of God’s Word and mentorship grounded in faith, Arise integrates academic support with spiritual guidance to help youth mature in both character and calling.

The Backpack Program (Food Insecurity Initiative)

The Backpack Program addresses food insecurity in Shelby County by providing weekend nourishment to over 540 students each week during the school year. These students are identified by teachers, counselors, and school administrators as being at risk of going without adequate food. Backpacks include easy-to-prepare, kid-friendly meals that children can open or heat on their own. With approximately 11.1% of Shelby County's youth facing food insecurity, this program is vital in ensuring children across all Shelby County Public Schools are nourished not just academically and spiritually—but physically as well.

A HOLISTIC APPROACH

By meeting educational, spiritual, and nutritional needs, Father’s Love takes a comprehensive approach to support children and families in our community. With nearly three decades of service, we remain committed to empowering the next generation through love, faith, and opportunity.
