Fauquier Community Theater enriches and entertains a range of audiences through a variety of live theatre productions that enhance the cultural life of the community. The theatre offers a range of challenging creative opportunities that inspire people of all ages and backgrounds to participate in theatre. FCT cultivates an appreciation of the performing arts in the community, educates through experience, participates in local activities, and partners with other organizations.
Fauquier Community Theatre (FCT) is currently producing shows online with all ages and for all ages. The holiday show "It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play" had a cast of 39 from ages 8 to 78. This year has seen a focus on arts education for youth with FCT offering PACE (Performing Arts Continuing Education) classes for youth 8 to 18. When FCT returns to stage, there will be a continuance of the 5-6 Main Stage productions, each having 9 performances. FCT also hosts a youth show and youth camp every summer.
"I just want to say how fortunate we are to have a wonderful theater like FCT in our community. I started out seeing shows there years ago and was so impressed. My kids were, as well, and began auditioning for shows and getting parts in both the children's theater and main stage shows. They have had a blast, made friends, and learned so much about acting. It has been a very positive and nurturing experience for us all- whether in the audience or on the stage. I highly recommend seeing a show or coming out to audition for one!" - HL
"The productions we have seen here have been top notch! How could we help but love "Mary Poppins"? But we really didn't know what to expect from "Jane Eyre". My 14-yr-old daughter and I both agree that this one of the best shows we have ever seen anywhere. She hasn't even read the book yet but completely understood what was going on. The performers, costumes, hair, makeup, sets, and everything were awesome. Bravo FCT!" - LZD
"We saw 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at FCT and thoroughly enjoyed the show. It was very well done, and we laughed throughout most of the show. The actors were phenomenal and the songs and witty repertoire left me a little sad when it was over :( I will definitely continue to go to the shows and would highly suggest anyone to skip the next date night at the movie theater - and instead support your local theater!" - KC
