Every month, the Food Bank of Northern Nevada distributes more than a million pounds of food to neighbors in need across northern Nevada the eastern Sierra of California.  Nearly half of that food is fresh produce...beautiful, nutritious fruits and vegetables.

Access to healthful, nutrient-rich foods is extremely important for community members served by the Food Bank of Northern Nevada.  The Mobile Harvest program is a direct service program that allows us to distribute perishable foods such as fresh produce, bread, and dairy into high-need neighborhoods.  Each month, we visit more than 40 sites throughout Reno/Sparks and rural northern Nevada and eastern California. 

Make a Difference

Give big during NV's Big Give and provide children, seniors, and families in our community with the healthy food they need to thrive. When families get the nutrition they need, they are able to solve additional problems they may face.  With food, we offer hope to those who are struggling.   

Our goal is to raise $2,500, which will provide enough fresh produce to serve hundreds of neighbors in need at three Mobile Harvest distributions.

Our Mission:
Feeding the hungry today and solving hunger for tomorrow through community partnership. 

The Food Bank of Northern Nevada provides emergency food services to families through a network of more than 140 partner agencies in a 90,000 square mile service area throughout northern Nevada and the eastern slope of the sierra in California. We serve more than 95,000 people each month, half of whom are children and seniors. Last fiscal year, we provided more than 13.3 million meals to neighbors who were hungry. The Food Bank also plays a leading role in collaborating with other committed northern Nevada community members and organizations to address the root causes of hunger.

We are a proud member of Feeding America, a network of more than 200 food banks. The Feeding America network is the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization and provides more than 3.3 billion meals to virtually every community in the United States. Membership means access to millions of pounds of surplus food and grocery donations.
