Foundation for Developmental Disabilities

The Foundation for Developmental Disabilities is the only organization in San Diego and Imperial Counties whose sole focus is to provide funding for innovative and startup programs to enhance the lives of people living with intellectual and developmental disabilities. 

During these unprecedented times, the Foundation has pivoted our focus to assist clients at the San Diego Regional Center through our Foundation Emergency Help Fund. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused unimaginable hardships for these families and in many cases the families have had to make impossible choices whether to pay their rent or put food on the table. Since the start of the pandemic, the foundation has provided over $200,000 in emergency relief funds to families who have been impacted by the virus. 

The ripple effects of the pandemic are still being felt by many families to this day. 

Through the Emergency Help Fund we provide emergency relief funding of up to $1,000 per San Diego Regional Center client, to help cover costs such as rent, emergency transportation, clothing, and assistance with obtaining independent or supported living situations.
