An abandonned or neglected or abused horse, an injured or sick or young critter... all life is important!
Our second "forever" horse came to us July 16, 2011, 300 lbs underweight. This retired champion barrel racer was eating her own poop to survive. Our Vet gave her 6 weeks to live, due to the severity of damage caused by the abuse. FnF & our Volunteers dedicated themselves to "Tequila" round the clock, loving her & praying for her continously. Love & Tequila's sheer will to survive saved her. She is now a "teaching" horse: volunteers learn all aspects of horse care while working with our Miracle named Tequila.
William, our 'Ambassador' & first 'forever' horse, came to us unwanted, neglected, under weight, malnurished. He had foundered moderate to severe in both front hooves. Vet diagnosed Hypothyroid as a goiter grew in his neck. He also suffered from Equine Cushings, PPID, & Insulin Resistance. With a few years of intense regimend of organic supplements & treatment & a wonderful product 'Evitex', William is now healthy, full of energy, & only showing minimal signs of his "previous" health issues. William has touched many lives, & was even a learning horse for a young Marine that is now, thanx to William & Tequila, in the elite Mounted Color Guard!
These 2 stories are why we believe that ALL life is important! Every unwanted horse is valuable & is just waiting to make a difference in someone's life!
How many are Your works, O Lord! In wisdom You made them all; the Earth is full of Your creatures...when You open Your hand, they are satisfied with good things. ~Psalm 104:24, 28b
