Fern Hollow Nature Center Inc.

Fern Hollow Nature Center is a place where individuals, groups and families can come to enjoy the outdoors. It is the gateway to the area park system, a place where people can come to understand the environment through educational programs for adults and children and through the appreciative use of the area. Programs are both organized and spontaneous. Understanding becomes the first step toward protection.

Fern Hollow Nature Center works with all local preschools, the Sewickley Academy, Quaker Valley School District, Montessori Children's Community, The glen Montessori, Avonworth, The Ellis School, McKee Elementary, and St. Raphael PTG. The programs offered are geared towards preschool and elementary school students and include nature walks, scientific studies in area creeks, community service activities, and environmental studies. Current programming includes programs on Pennsylvania wildlife and habitat, geology, local watersheds and much more. Last year we provided over 70 programs to 3,500 students
