FERNBANK MUSEUM ANNOUNCES $250,000 COVID-19 RECOVERY FUND
Featuring a world-class museum, Giant Screen Theater, and 75 acres of outdoor adventures, Fernbank is Atlanta’s Science and Nature Experience.
In response to the COVID-19 health pandemic, we temporarily closed our doors to ensure the safety of the public, our staff, and the thousands of members and visitors, like you, who treasure their experiences at Fernbank. As a result, 75% of the income we earn through ticket sales, memberships, event rentals, and onsite purchases are no longer available to us. We are actively planning to reopen as soon as it is safe to do so; but until that time, there is an urgent need for philanthropic support from the community.
We need you!
Please consider a gift to Fernbank’s COVID-19 Recovery Fund. We need to raise an additional $9,000 on GA Gives Day to meet our $250,000 goal. Your gift, at any level, will help us begin to close the funding gap, and even surpass the goal. Further, your support will ensure we reopen with the highest quality programming for our community at a time when our visitor-related revenue streams are not available.
Your thoughtful support will also help us continue important initiatives, such as afterschool and outdoor programs for underserved communities, care of our live animal collection, special exhibitions, family day programs, movies, and more, so Fernbank’s World of WOW is available for all audiences.
We can’t wait to reopen so you and others can enjoy Atlanta’s Science and Nature Experience in person. Until then, we will continue to serve you with our free online initiatives, Museum at Home and Field Trip Fridays.
*Gifts to Fernbank’s COVID-19 Recovery Fund are tax-deductible as allowed by law. Donors who make gifts of $1,000 or more will receive recognition on a digital donor panel in special exhibitions during 2020 and 2021.
