The 34th Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Festival ("Festival") celebrates the vibrancy of pan Asian traditions and culture through music, song, dance, folk and martial arts, and interactive involvement.

The Festival celebrates over three decades.  It has been hosted at the United Nations plaza, Lincoln Center, Union Square, Dumbo to now in Flushing and Chinatown - Manhattan.

Produced by the Coaltion of Asian/Pacific Americans (CAPA), a non-proft 501C(3) charity, the organization is involved in protecting, promoting, advancing and recognizing the contributions, advances and role of Asian Americans whether of Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Philippine, Indian, Pacific Islander, etc. decent.

Back in the 1800's Asian immigrants traveled thousands of miles across the Pacific, often in in-hospitable conditions on board crowded ships, challenged with the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882, Internment Camps, and events such as Paper Sons has resulted in a heavy cost. In those days our nation was not as receptive nor friendly for Asians trying to fit in and find a place of equal merit.  They took up roles as miners, railroad workers and laborers.

In preserving rich traditions and the culture steeped in thousands of years of creativity and resourcefulness here the scant free moments both working parents had with their children as they sang, read to or even danced with their children reinforced their belief that commitment, dedication, and hardwork will secure a abundant future.

Today, the community carries forth, and instills those same traditions and work ethnics, while bearing forth the learned beliefs that have shaped the lives of a silent minority whom have become a silent majority.

Studying hard, doing well in school, doing a good job while keeping quiet and not raising questions nor speaking up was how many were raised as Asian Americans so they could earn their place in American society.

As the younger generations began going to American schools, and got better integrated into American society they soon learned that America is a land of opportunity and free expression.. that you can be who and what you want to be if only you apply yourself.

Our talented performers and musicians are emblematic of those Asian Americans who today follow a dream and live thier passion while remaining connected to their cultural roots and bring it live to the eyes and ears of others at the Festival.

This is what life is about! Please help us as we set an example for many still searching for themselves and their passion.

The contributions, talents and voice of young Asian American artists desrve a place. Please help make it possible.

Help build new tomorrows for these talented musicians, performers, the children of PS 124 and the longevity of the Festival. Even if you can't get to the Festival you can still help and support your friends by donating right now.  It's as easy as clicking the donate link on this site right from your smart phone or computer!

Past Festivals have attracted thousands of guests at each event. The Festival has been at:
