Fetch Animal Rescue was founded January 2024, in Tehachapi, California. As a non-profit charitable organization primarily dedicated to rescuing dogs and cats in Kern County California that are stray, neglected, and those who face being euthanized in shelters, we are committed to providing care and shelter to these deserving animals in a loving foster home environment until they are adopted or make a forever home at our future sanctuary. Our mission extends beyond rescue efforts to include supporting pet owners, educating the community about animal ownership and welfare, and empowering the next generation of animal lovers.
The statistics are alarming: millions of dogs and cats are euthanized in shelters every year, and countless more roam the streets as strays, vulnerable to disease, injury, and exploitation. Many of these dogs and cats are victims of circumstance, abandoned by their owners due to financial constraints, lack of education, or simply because they are no longer wanted. Many pet owners struggle to provide adequate care, leading to neglect and abandonment. The consequences are dire: dogs and cats suffer, communities are affected, and the cycle of cruelty continues. Our organization aims to address this crisis by providing a comprehensive solution that includes rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming via adoption, as well as education and support for the community, and to address the root causes of animal neglect.
As a rescue that receives no government funding, we are 100% dependent upon kind donors like you and your donation to help us afford to feed the animals in our care, and for their medical costs like spay/neuter, vaccinations, and any injury or illness costs. Donations also help support our other programs such as community education and support, and more.
As a foster home only rescue currently, we cannot be dependent solely on only foster homes housing our animals. For security and greater capacity, it’s vital we also build a small shelter and sanctuary so we can help as many dogs & cats as possible. This has always been the vision of our board of directors. Therefore, we are also seeking donations so that we can pay to start the development approval process, in order to build our small animal shelter on land donated to our rescue in California City.
Fetch is committed to making a tangible difference in the lives of stray, neglected, and shelter dogs and cats. With your support, we can provide love, care, and sanctuary to those in need, while promoting a culture of compassion and responsible animal ownership. Together, we can create a brighter future for our furry friends and the communities we serve. Thank you for considering donating, so that we can save as many dogs and cats as possible.
