Fiberarts Guild of Pittsburgh, Inc.

The Fiberarts Guild of Pittsburgh, Inc. is an all volunteer, member-supported organization that promotes the appreciation, development and continuation of a broad range of fiber art. We provide support for artists and community groups interested in the medium through an annual series of lectures, workshops, critiques, fiber conversations, skill shares and special interest mentoring groups. We seek to foster individual artistic growth, bring together people who seek to advance the field of fiber art and enrich the culture of our region. We produce juried and non-juried exhibitions of members' work so that established and emerging artists may exhibit side by side. In 2016, we will produce the prestigious triennial Fiberart International which extends the Guild's outreach beyond our region to a growing national and international audience.

Fiberart International 2016 is the 22nd in a series of triennial juried exhibitions sponsored by the Fiberarts Guild of Pittsburgh, Inc. through many volunteer hours, member contributions, grants and arts donors. Fiberart International 2016 features works by established and emerging artists chosen by our distinguished panel of artists and curators Chunghie Lee, Arturo Alonzo Sandoval, and Tali Weinberg. It provides a unique opportunity for Pittsburgh residents and visitors to see current trends and innovations in this constantly evolving medium. Since 1997, the exhibition has been held at two prestigious arts organizations, the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts and the Society for Contemporary Craft. The educational and participatory components include a catalog, docent program, the Fiberart Forum and workshops, in-school residencies and community-created outdoor installations, called Pop des Fleurs.
