Fill a Heart 4 Kids...

The McAveeney family began taking in homeless children in the Chicagoland area in 2007, after learning there were thousands of local homeless youth and foster children in critical need of basic necessities, positive experiences and hope to help them heal and feel worthy – 4 Brighter Futures!

FAH4K’s mission was born when the McAveeney’s daughter, Lilly, packed and delivered Valentine’s Day care packages to a group facility for foster children who needed to feel loved and remembered on Valentine’s Day. The children were so happy they asked Lilly’s family to please come back: “Don’t forget about us.”

Today, FAH4K sponsors 850 foster children and 500 unaccompanied homeless youth and 600 at-risk youth. The majority of their foster youth were rescued from abusive families and are now wards of the state, while others were abandoned and are living on the streets, struggling to survive and navigating their way through school struggling to find a place to sleep at night.

FAH4K hosts more than 300 annual volunteer events and programs to support local rescued children and at-risk youth – 4 Brighter Futures!
