Finally Home Animal Haven is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit ALL animal rescue. While we focus on mainly abused and neglected donkeys, we have a soft heart for any animal in desperate need. With the space and the help of our wonderful volunteers, we strive to help abused, neglected and surrendered animals that come our way by putting their needs first. For many, it may be the first time they actually feel warmth, love, shelter, a full belly or a kind hand.

Many of our animals have ailments that require lots of veterinarian care or expensive medications, debilitating health or hoof conditions...all of which are not cheap but necessary expenses for quality of life.

We try to provide a safe haven for hospice cases, allowing them to have a comfortable and quiet place to roam, nap and be happy for the remainder of their lives. These animals may need additional medications, supplements, subcutaneous fluids, higher calorie meals and frequent monitoring. They hold a special place here at FHAH (and in the hearts of our volunteers) until they cross the rainbow bridge 🌈, without the stressors of a traditional shelter.

Our goal: is to provide these animals with a forever home: a place where they will never experience unnecessary pain again brought onto them by a cruel human hand. A place where they can live out their lives without having to work until they are no longer needed and thrown aside, a place where possibly for one of the first times in their life they will feel only love. We are dedicated in helping them find that place through rehabilitation and placing them in a safe forever home or when not possible, they will always have a home here. They will never have to worry about having a shelter to shade them from the storm or wonder where they will get their next meal, a place where they can live out the rest of their lives peacefully, a place where they will always feel: finally home.

We serve Fauquier, Madison, Albemarle, Buckingham, Rappahannock, Charlottesville, Culpeper, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, and Orange. We are dedicated to rehabilitating, retraining and safely placing these animals into a forever home or when not possible, providing a permanent sanctuary here at Finally Home Animal Haven.
