FirstLine Schools

The mission of FirstLine Schools is to create and inspire great open admissions public schools in New Orleans. FirstLine achieves its mission through a whole child education philosophy that nurtures students in mind, body, and spirit.

FirstLine Schools is a 26-year-old, open-admissions charter management organization committed to transforming teaching and learning for generations of New Orleans scholars. The oldest charter management organization in Orleans Parish, FirstLine meets its mission through a whole child education philosophy that nurtures students in mind, body, and spirit. FirstLine currently operates four open-enrollment public charter schools in New Orleans: Arthur Ashe Charter School, Langston Hughes Academy, Phillis Wheatley Community School, and Samuel J. Green Charter School.

This year, FirstLine is raising funds to support 8th grade class trips at all four FirstLine Schools--the culmination of a year's worth of grade level experiences that help build community and identity in every grade. These trips allow students to travel outside of New Orleans to explore new cities, visit college campuses, consider future career opportunities, and see practical applications of classroom learning. All funds raised will ensure these trips remain accessible for all families by minimizing the financial commitment requested of participants.
