First Presbyterian Church

God calls Jesus followers to join Jesus on His mission! At First Presbyterian Church of San Angelo, we seek to live into this call by feeding the hungry, visiting prisoners, loving our neighbors, serving the community, and building bridges across a diverse body of believers.

First Presbyterian's John 15:12 Ministry served 8,275 meals on Sunday mornings in 2024 - an average of 159 meals per week. That number is just over 200 per week so far this year. Our Daily Snack Bag program, Mon-Thurs 2p-4p gave out 2,323 bags - an average of 11 bags per day. By today's writing, we are at 346 - about 17 per day.

We also do a lot of homeless ministry. We have a clothes and hygiene closet. Once a month, we allow our neighbors to get extra clothes and hygiene items. The closet and hygiene items are available upon request. Homelessness in Tom Green County for 2024. According to the annual HUD Point in Time count, 175 people were homeless. Keep in mind, these are only the people who were willing to be interviewed. The real number is anticipated to be much higher. Of those 175 people, 16 were under the age of 18, 5 were 18-24, 114 were 25-54, 40 were 55 & older, and 12 were veterans.

All of the money for these ministries is donated, not budgeted. We need about $20,000 per year to keep them going.
