FixNation’s mission is to reduce the population of homeless cats by sterilizing as many as possible while demonstrating the effectiveness of Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) and colony management for the humane care of homeless cats. We strive to build a better world for cats and envision a day when all tame cats have a home, and community cats are spayed/neutered and cared for in their outdoor homes.

FixNation became the first, full-time spay-neuter facility in Los Angeles in 2007, providing comprehensive TNR support including free spay/neuter services for homeless cats, TNR outreach and education, as well as affordable care for companion cats, and partnerships to facilitate adoptions.  We are a model for TNR and cat population management across the country. We have sterilized more than 200,000 cats, served more than 15,000 clients and sterilize, on average, 100 cats per day. Of every dollar received, 85-cents goes directly to programs and services to help homeless cats.

With an untold number of cats living in the streets, alleyways, and hills of Los Angeles, our comprehensive, free services are essential. We provide all of the tools, support, and resources needed to manage colonies of homeless cats, and give these cats the best medical care possible. In addition to spay or neuter surgery, each homeless cat brought to our clinic receives:

  • Vaccinations
  • Fluids
  • Long-acting antibiotics
  • Pain medication
  • Treatments for mange, flea, ear mites, and worm infestations
  • Treatments for abscesses and injuries
  • Additional medical care if needed

FixNation’s philosophy is that we have just one day—one chance— to love and care for the cats that come through our doors. We treat these cats as if they were our own.
