In 1950 the Northern Arizona Orchestra played its first concert in the gymnasium at Northern Arizona University. On May 29, 1961, the Flagstaff Symphony Association was founded as a not-for-profit corporation in the state of Arizona.
Today’s FSO continues to serve Northern Arizona through the live performance of symphonic music and a variety of education and community engagement programs.
Our mission is oriented toward sharing with all people the joy of music and instilling in them the appreciation and passion that our organization has for our art form as an essential resource for a healthy, progressive, and economically viable community.
Our commitment to community is stronger than ever as we look with excitement toward our 65th season.
