About FLIPANY

Founded in 2005, FLIPANY (Florida Introduces Physical Activity and Nutrition to Youth) advances health equity by bringing healthy meals, hands-on nutrition education and mentored physical activity to under-resourced communities across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach. We are Florida's largest unaffiliated sponsor of the Afterschool Meals Program. Working through 400+ partner sites, including schools, community centers, churches, and senior centers, we deliver help where people live, learn, and play, so every child, family, and senior has the chance to live a healthy life.

Why Your Support Matters

In neighborhoods like Florida City, Homestead, Opa-locka, and Miami Gardens, too many families face the same hard stretch every day: school lunch is over, the grocery budget is thin, and safe places to play are few. FLIPANY closes that gap with a proven, community-based model that does three things at once:

• Access: healthy meals and free pantry markets, brought into the neighborhood
• Skills: cooking, smart shopping, meal planning and label reading
• Motivation: coach-mentors and fitness programs that keep kids coming back

Our Community Programs

Healthy Meals: Year-round, culturally relevant meals for youth and seniors through afterschool, summer, and congregate models—paired with pantry markets that bring free groceries into neighborhoods.

Nutrition Education: Evidence-based, hands-on classes that teach cooking, smart shopping, meal planning, and gardening—building skills families can use right away.

Physical Activity: Coach-mentored fitness including Soccer for Success, yoga, and custom classes that inspire confidence, teamwork, and lifelong movement.

• $25 provides a soccer ball/Jersey and take home lessons/materials for 1 child enrolled in FLIPANY Soccer 
• $50 provides 2 months of afterschool meals/snacks for 1 child to bridge the afterschool hunger gap
• $150 provides afterschool meals/snacks for 1 child for the entire school year
• $250 provides a full 24-week Season (2x a week) of Soccer For Success with a nationally trained and certified coach, a Jersey, and an Adidas Soccer Ball to keep for 1 child
• $3,500 funds an entire season of soccer for youth at one school or community site
