Fluidity

Fluidity is a creative choral community for a cause. We welcome a spectrum of cultures, races, gender identities and religious communities to our chorus and to our concerts. We have singers in high school, in their 70s, from all walks of life, and backgrounds.

In addition to providing a place where all are welcome, our mission is to pay it forward to help others help others! As a choral organization, we present two concert events each year and donate proceeds to assist local nonprofits. These nonprofits have used these funds in many ways, from using them for matching funds for needed transportation, training service dogs for individuals who could not otherwise afford one, funding auto refurbishment for job seekers, and so much more!  

On April 23, 2023, Fluidity will partner with the Ohio Innocence Project (OIP) at Hebrew Union College.  We will present a concert intended to bring awareness to inhumane, wrongful deaths and reclaim the humanity of seven black men through Joel Thompson’s Seven Last Words of the Unarmed, which will be inlaid with the sacred music of Faure’s Requiem. The performance will conclude with Shelton Ridge Love’s beautiful arrangement of We Shall Overcome. Through these two pieces, we will seek to convey peace and hope in the midst of tragedy. 

Before the performance, a select group of recently exonerated community members will speak. They will inform and educate the audience of OIP’s impact in their lives and in our community. 

As you can imagine, COVID-19 has been very challenging for arts organizations in general, and Fluidity is no exception. We need your help to ensure that we can continue to perform and promote our mission! We are asking that you consider donating today to help Fluidity in annual operating and production costs.
