Friends of Nebraska Dyslexia Association

Imagine looking at a sentence and seeing nothing but a string of strange consonants and misplaced vowels. You can guess at the words, you can try to sound them out, but it takes you longer than everybody else. You feel scared, stupid, and alone.

Dyslexia affects as many as 1 in 5 American children and adults, and it can mean lifelong struggles with reading and writing for them.

But it doesn't have to be that way. The Nebraska Dyslexia Association has helped hundreds of Nebraskans tackle and overcome this disorder through free services and education, including:

• Training, resources and support for individuals struggling with reading and writing.
• Classes, workshops, and conferences with practical solutions for parents and teachers.
• Awareness events and information sessions for the general public.
• A support group for kids--Dyslexic Kids Connect.
