Food for the Hungry, Inc.

If you give a man a fish, he'll eat for one day. If you teach a man how to fish, he'll eat for a lifetime.

In response to His call, we go to the hard places – places darkened by poverty, war and injustice – to bring hope and help to children, families and communities in the world’s most impoverished countries.

Food for the Hungry was founded in 1971 is an international relief and development organization that meets the physical and spiritual needs of the poor in more than 25 countries.

In developing countries on nearly every continent, Food for the Hungry works with churches, leaders and families to provide the resources they need to help their communities grow in education and become self-sustaining. This means we live in communities for up to 15 years to teach villages about health, micro-enterprise, the importance of clean water and many other things you and I take for granted.

When disasters strike, Food for the Hungry is often one of the first organizations on the ground to provide and facilitate emergency relief assistance to those in urgent need of food, shelter and medical care.
