The Palozola Foundation

A nonprofit organization

We fulfill our vision and mission through special projects, affiliations and direct/indirect assistance to Veterans and their families. Funding raised by the Foundation, our special projects and our affiliate are used for the direct benefit of the Veterans we serve
• Forces for Food:
o The Foundation began supporting the Jefferson Barracks Veteran/Military Food Pantry in 2020 to help Veterans/Military and their families with Schnuck's Gift Cards, while the pantry was temporarily closed due to Covid-19. This support has continued to the present. When the pantry was in danger of closing again late in 2021, The Foundation stepped in and brought the pantry under our wing setting it up as a new affiliated organization named Forces for Food. This move provides protection to the pantry and ensures donations go to military and Veteran families in need and as they are intended. Cash donations for Forces for Food are used to provide Veterans and military and their families the critical perishable food items the pantry cannot stock (milk, eggs, meat, fruit, etc.)
• Forces on the Fairways Veterans Golf League:
o We believe that golf can act as a healing agent and outlet for physical activity, for all Veterans especially Veterans suffering from PTSD and physical handicaps. The resulting physical and mental well being is critical to Veterans and their families. We also seek to make golf more accessible to those Veterans with physical handicaps such as missing limbs
o Now in its fourth year, this project has impacted more than 100 area Veteran golfers. The leagues provide access to comradery, mutual support and physical activity. Veterans in the league play weekly at multiple St. Louis area golf courses from May to September. Their fees are paid by the Foundation.
o The following quote is just one of many about the direct impact this program has with our Veterans:
 "The Palozola foundation has given us the opportunity to spend time with fellow vets of vastly varying ages and backgrounds but with a commonality and bond we all share and understand. In my case it is a healing process to share time on the golf course with such patriots and for a few hours each week to avoid the evils that creep into my life far too often. The Foundation and all who make it possible are a HUGH way of letting us know that our service and sacrifice was, and is appreciated."
• Forces on the Fairways Veterans Appreciation Day:
o Veterans Appreciation Day is designed to say a big "Thank You for Your Service" through The Battle of The Forces, a 9-hole Veterans tournament at Tower Tee. Besides physical activity, it is another opportunity for our Veterans to bond through friendly competition. It is held with no cost to Veteran tournament

• Other projects:
o Physical therapy and rehabilitation for Veterans using a golf simulator and handicap accessible golf chair while working with the VA St. Louis Recreation Therapy System.
o Gifting handicap accessible golf carts to two area golf courses for use by Veterans and other handicapped golfers. Providing a practice chair designed for handicap individuals at an area
driving range for use by Veterans and handicapped golfers where they can learn and practice golf
o Financial support for the Student Veterans Organization at Webster University. The Webster SVO is also a chapter of the Student Veterans of America, a nation-wide student veterans
organization with many opportunities for networking, scholarships, and career opportunities
o Forces on the Fairways Day of Healing Golf Clinic: Annual clinic for Veterans suffering from PTSD
o Sponsorship of a Veteran amputee on a team made up of adaptive golfers from across the USA who will compete in a Ryder Cup-Styled event hosted by the Scottish Disabled Golf and
Curling Club (SDGCC)
o Supporting PGA Reach (Gateway) which introduces golf to active duty military and veterans with disabilities to enhance their physical, mental, social and emotional well-being
• Forces on the Fairways Golf Tournament:
o Our annual fundraiser provides a place for players to meet with Veterans who have used our programs/ The event has grown each year and serves to honor our Veterans, create
awareness to the physical and mental needs of Veterans and the ability of golf as an effective vehicle to help us fulfill our mission
