Fort Worth Abroad

Fort Worth Abroad (www.fortworthabroad.org) – The Goal of Fort Worth Abroad is to create

more opportunities for young adults who graduated from Tarrant County high schools to study in foreign

countries. Sending our people abroad will generate more global awareness about Fort Worth and give us

a long term return on investment in our own population’s talent plus networks. To accomplish our goals

we are raising funds for scholarships.

Through the funds and awareness raised at our events, we have awarded 33 scholarships for

$1,250 each. We awarded 8 scholarships this year alone! The organization is picking up steam, and we

are crafting more approaches to raise money as well as awareness for the students of Fort Worth schools

to inform them of the opportunity.

To raise money we plan annual events and raise direct donor contributions. This year our goal is

also to be awarded at least one grant. To increase awareness we are currently in direct communications

with TCU Student Support Services, the Prep Factory, and University of Texas Study Abroad office. We are

also working to engage UNT, Texas Wesleyan, UTA, Tarrant To and Through, Create and Co., and Dream

Big Ft Worth. As we grow, this list will be expanding.
