Foundation Rwanda

The mothers of these children - many of whom contracted the HIV/AIDS virus from those brutal encounters have largely been shunned by their society because of the stigma of rape and rejected by their families. Forced into poverty, the are unable to pay the $350 annual fee for their children to attend secondary school or to provide the necessary uniforms, shoes, books and scholastic materials, and transportation. Currently, there are no existing governmental or private NGO programs to support and provide funds for education for children born from rape during the genocide.
