The Foundation for Terrebonne General Health System, a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, was founded in 2010 with a mission to improve the health and well-being of the people of South Louisiana.

The Foundation for Terrebonne General is dedicated to promoting health and wellness programs by supporting patients, employees, and the broader community. Our core mission is to help vulnerable individuals, providing resources such as medication assistance, transportation, and free health screenings via the Mobile Care Clinic. We also offer free concussion testing for over 10,000 athletes and fund a yearly distracted driving program to promote safety to new drivers. Additionally, the Foundation covers essential costs like food, housing, and medication for those facing financial hardship.

The Foundation stands out not just for its services but for its compassion and commitment to alleviating the burdens of healthcare challenges. Its work, including life-saving screenings, community advocacy, and emergency assistance, makes a tangible difference. A patient was admitted to the hospital and the social worker discovered that he had no electricity or running water. Through the generosity of the Foundation, we were able to reconnect both his electricity and water as well as purchase the necessary medication to help him recover.

A young family was devastated about the loss of their newborn. Because of the generosity of the Foundation purchasing cooling cots, the family was able to spend more time with their baby and also purchased a coffin for his burial.
