Franklin and North Quabbin Children's Advocacy Center

In the past wheen a child disclosed physical or sexual abuse they were often times interviewed by multiple people, possibly by the  teacher they told , who would then call the police. The police would investigate and then call child protection and the child would be interviewed again. Multiple interviews re-traumatize the child.

The CAC provides children with a safe, child friendly house where they are interviewed after making a disclosure of physical or sexual abuse. The multi-disciplinary team approach ensures that children are only interviewed one time by a forensic interviewer while the law enforcment, proscucuter and child protection observes from another room on start of the art video. This reduces the traunma to the children and reasults in successful proscecutions.

The CAC has a medical office at the house and offers medical exams by a child abuse specialist so that children do not need to go to the emergency room The CAC offers trauma coordinated services to the non-offending parent so they can begin their recovery.
