Habitat for Humanity of Franklin County

At Habitat for Humanity of Franklin County our mission is to build homes, communities and hope for people in need of affordable housing. We construct new homes and rehabilitate existing housing throughout Franklin County to provide low-to-moderate income individuals and families with affordable housing options. 

As an extension of our mission, we provide critical home repair services to low-to-moderate income homeowners in Franklin County. The purpose is to help homeowners alleviate health and safety issues in and around their home. Eligible repairs include small roof repairs, handicap accessibility, window and door replacement, sidewalk and exterior stair repair, siding repair, electrical, plumbing and water supply and septic systems.

We also operate the Habitat ReStore at 1145 Franklin St. in Rocky Mount, VA. The Habitat Store is a place for donating and purchasing used and new building materials and home improvement items. This reduces the amount of unwanted construction material going into a landfill and provides a place for people to purchase these goods at prices significantly lower than retail. Profits from the ReStore help fund our construction and critical repair programs. 

Historically, our Habitat affiliate has completed one new home build and 12 critical home repairs per year for an average of 39 total people served annually with long-term housing solutions. We are currently operating under a strategic capacity building plan to complete 3 new home builds and 25 critical home repairs per year.
