Free Range Opera Theater Inc

For many years, our founders were enthusiastically volunteering for another wonderful theater company, and spending many hours doing all sorts of things, both related to the shows, and finding ways to earn the money to keep the curtain opening.  In 2011, during a production cycle, there was a major earthquake and tsunami in Tōhoku, Japan. resulting in devastation that broke our hearts.  We felt that our time as volunteers was less meaningful that it could be, and wanted to change that.

We all knew about The Savoy Company in Philadelphia, who donates a portion of their proceeds to non profits and charities in their area, and we knew about The Blue Hill Troupe in New York - who since 1928 have raised over 4 million dollar for 68 diverse organizations; but we couldn't find a similar organization out here in the San Francisco Bay Area.

So we started one.
