The mission of freeFall theatre is to pursue art's greater purposes and the transformative power of theatre - as a builder of community, a source of upliftment, and a builder of cultural legacy.

We present a varied range of classical and new works that are bold, daring, and diverse. We strive to make our work accessible and to present it in ways that invite, entertain, and challenge our audience.

We're in the midst of our seventh full season as a professional Equity regional theatre. In the six years since we transformed a former church property into a state-of-the-art theatre, our innovative productions have dazzled audiences and won numerous awards. We've infused more than ten million dollars into the local economy, created jobs for 10 permanent staff members and hundreds of theatre artists and designers, and given hundreds of children the gift of live theatre. 

In such a short time, freeFall has established itself as one of the premiere arts organizations in Tampa Bay (and in the state, winning "Best Professional Theater Company" in the 2011 Broadway World Florida Awards!).  How have we done it?

Sure, the unique vision of Artistic Director Eric Davis and his ability to continue moving and challenging audiences with each surprising new production has been key.  And the fact that we have a passionate, dedicated staff that works insane hours for not much money has been instrumental too.  The assistance of the angel investors that enabled us to renovate and move into our new space was critical.

But the most important element?  YOU.  Our donors and audiences.  We'd be nowhere without the diverse group of supporters, volunteers, and theatre-goers that make up the freeFall family.

Like nearly all non-profit professional theatres across the nation, our ticket sales only cover about half the cost of running the organization.  We rely on contributions from individuals and businesses to make up the rest.
