Free Flow Mobile Showers & Laundry

Free Flow launched earlier this year, in Northeast Florida, with a team of passionate, like-minded individuals focused on supporting the homeless through an innovative approach, pop up Mobile Care Villages.  Our village would consist of three mobile units: Shower/Laundry, Bicycle Repair/Trade, and Job/Education.  You see, our mission is restoring dignity and bridging the gap to provide the basic elements of life.  We believe our mobile care village achieves that vital mission, and more. Because to restore dignity is to offer hope. To equip. To empower.  

You may be asking, how will our mobile village accomplish our vision and goals?  Our mobile units, that you are supporting, are intentionally planned.  Initially, we want to be able to provide clean bodies and clean clothes first. This very basic act has an internal impact. Think back to a recent time when you needed a shower - how did it make you feel internally? It not only contributes to proper hygiene and sanitation - it has a profound, internal, restorative impact. Once we are able to start with the basic, life-giving act of providing showers and laundry services, we will then offer simple transportation through bicycles, and complete our village with a job and education unit utilizing job coaches to help secure a professional email/resume, to aid in job searches, obtain their GED, and provide interview clothes. We will also have community representatives from various programs (veteran, domestic violence, transitional housing) to begin registering the homeless for much needed services and resources. This mitigates the barriers for finding relief by bringing the resources directly to them - this is the"bridging the gap" piece of our mission. To not only restore, but to equip and empower for life change. All of the services offered through our mobile care village will be free of charge because of your generosity and support.

Our story began several years ago when our founder spent time out on the mission field in a very poor, isolated village in Haiti. She witnessed the villagers washing themselves, and their clothes, in muddy rivers. She also experienced the loss of proper cleanliness as her showers were quick, cold, and untreated. When she returned home, her first order of business was a long, hot shower.  As she stepped out and began to dry off, the impact was immediate.  So was the call to action: To provide showers and clean laundry to those without access.

Fast-forward to today. Just a few, short months ago the Free Flow family was born. In a pandemic. Because we knew the mission was critical and it would, more than likely, grow due to our changing economical times. Our most vulnerable neighbors do not cease to need services because of a virus. In fact, the need increases. More than ever, the homeless need access to cleanliness. To life-giving resources. To hope. To love. Free Flow will stand in the gap and provide for these needs one drop at at time. As you know, we are already serving in our communities with lunches, hygiene kits, and meal packs.  But there is so much more to be done...

This is where you come in.  You can stand in the gap with us.  Maybe not physically - but fiscally. In order to achieve our mission and change lives, we are in critical need of purchasing our mobile shower and laundry unit.  With your help, we can purchase a unit by the end of January 2021 - or sooner - and have it out on the streets by March.  This is most certainly doable.  We have faith it will be raised.  There are too many lives waiting on us.  We will make it happen.  We are fundraising for a 2-station shower/laundry vehicle.
