$10,000 Goal
Thank you for taking the time to check out our 100% Volunteer Fire Department here in Wichita County. We are located in the quaint city of Cashion Community located just between Sheppard AFB and Burkburnett. You may have seen one of our Brush trucks heading to a fire near you and that's because we have a response coverage of about 30 square miles of Wichita County. We often assist other departments on fires and respond to medical calls in our area. We are so lucky to have our volunteers to help keep this department moving up and forward in a positive and innovative way. We are always improving things to ensure everything is operating safely and efficiently.
This year our goal is $10,000 which will go towards fixing and improving our trucks and station. Part of our safety is making sure our trucks are properly equipped to provide rehab to cool down our firefighters on a call. Brush 94 is our most used truck, and we are seeking donations to install an air conditioning unit so it can provide that for our firefighters. Secondly, we have purchased a new brush truck earlier in the year (Brush 96) to help with some of our more aggressive fires and more rugged terrain. We have the truck outfitting in progress, but it is missing some crucial things to make it fully operational such as lights, sirens, radios, hand tools, chainsaws, Wildland packs, fire shelters, forestry hoses, nozzles, adapters, helmets, flagging tape, saw brackets, hose clamps and hydrant wrenches.
If any additional funds are raised, it will go towards fixing our truck bay to be more practical for what we need. We need more lighting in the bay for backing up the trucks at night. It's a tight squeeze and takes a lot of precision to make sure we don't hit the building with our trucks. We also have two lawn mowers we use to mow our property that are in the way of our gear lockers. We would love to use any additional money raised to put a shed on our property to house our mowers to clear the locker area. All of these things will help our growing department become safer and more efficient when responding to a call. We appreciate our community immensely and could not be the department we are today without all of the love and support from Wichita County residents.
Sincerely,
Friberg-Cooper Volunteer Fire Department
