Friends and Family of South Loop School Inc

Thank you for your interest in supporting our effort to prevent the South Loop Kindergarten program from being reduced to 2.5 hours a day. Due to the CPS budget cuts, we need to raise enough funding to cover 1.5 teaching positions. We hope that all parents with children entering kindergarten in the Fall of 2010 will appreciate the importance and the necessity of their generosity when they choose to pledge money to this effort. We must raise $130,000 by July 31, 2010. We are asking parents of each child to donate $2,000 for the school year. Payments can also be made in two installments. We are also asking any South Loop parents who are able, to help sponsor other incoming kindergartners who may not be able to fund the full amount. If the school is unable to fund the full-day program, donations will be returned and the kindergarten will have a 2.5 hour day in the 2010-2011 school year. Please note that in the unlikely event we need to refund donations, donations made anonymously will be credited to Friends & Family of South Loop School's General Fund to be spent at the discretion of the Finance Committee.

By raising this money, we will be able to provide our children with an enhanced, full-day kindergarten program that will better prepare them for first grade.
