Every day, we hear the same sad story. “The cost of lifesaving surgery/treatment is not something we can afford. Without your help, we will lose our beloved family pet.”

When my phone rang this morning, I heard, "Our cat Minnie is a rescue. We thought that she was spayed, but she went into labor yesterday and delivered two kittens. Then this morning, she delivered another kitten, which sadly died. She's still trying to have another. My veterinarian says that Minnie needs emergency surgery, can you help?" 

Our faithful donors' gifts allowed Minnie to have the emergency surgery that she so desperately needed. She was able to go home with her two healthy kittens to a family whose dad is on dialysis, a mom who recently lost her job, and their three young children. They called to say, "Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Our sweet Minnie would have died without the help of Friends & Vets Helping Pets!"

Friends & Vets Helping Pets, a nonprofit based in Lexington, KY (serving families and pets nationwide) was established in 2012 to solve the problem of families being forced to euthanize a family pet because of unexpected medical costs. We fund treatments for curable, lifesaving diseases and severe injuries such as tumors, broken bones, ambulatory care, medication and post-surgical prosthetics.

The need for lifesaving veterinary care is greater than ever. With your gift, we can continue to help pets like Minnie have happy endings. All operational costs are underwritten by a generous Board of Directors. 100% OF YOUR DONATION GOES TO HELP SICK AND INJURED PETS.  

Friends & Vets Helping Pets strives to help as many families possible with available funds. Grants are need-based and made to families whose ability to pay is severely limited. All applicants must be prepared to show documentation of financial need.
