Friends of Boulder Knoll is dedicated to sustainable agriculture and sustainable communities.

We are committed to engaging people of all ages, abilities, and levels of experience in working with, understanding, and enjoying the land and its natural resources.

Boulder Knoll Community Farm

We manage Boulder Knoll Community Farm on town-owned property in Cheshire. We run our community farm in a sustainable manner. We incorporate permaculture practices. Although not certified organic, we adhere to organic growing standards and are committed to an environmentally responsible, ecologically sound, holistic approach to farming.

The farm provides: 

• A Community Garden where interested individuals, families and groups lease garden plots to grow organic produce.


• A solar-powered aerobic community composting facility that turns garbage (kitchen and garden waste) into valuable compost.


• 
  Educational opportunities for people of all ages. We emphasize the links between people, plants, and the earth to develop interdisciplinary learning and to promote environmental responsibility.
  


• Food donations to our neighbors in need.
