Friends of Camp Zoe

Our collaboration with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and Missouri State Parks was initiated in 2015 to preserve and restore the historic Camp Zoe Lodge. To date, we have successfully raised funds for the installation of a new roof and additional support structures which will maintain the building’s integrity... for now. Nevertheless, in order to complete the restoration work, recent estimates have been as high as $600,000, a daunting challenge for our small but dedicated group.

But here’s the GOOD NEWS. At our 2024 Reunion meeting at Echo Bluff State Park, we received a generous proposal from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources' Division of State Parks. They offered to fund the remaining costs to complete the restoration if we provided matching funds of $150,000 by September 1, 2025. We raised the funds, and the Division of State Parks is planning the restoration project.  Additional funds will be used to install information signs and displays, and to develop future programs.
