Children in foster care often feel “different” because of the type of clothes they wear, or because they don’t have the money to join a team or go on a field trip. They may not have school pictures taken, or the uniform required to sing in the choir. Many foster children experience shame or embarrassment as a result of their foster care situation.  Friends of CASA  mitigates these experiences as much as possible!

Donated funds provide basic necessities, shoes and clothing, sports fees and uniforms, music and art classes, extracurricular activities, and many other purposes that allow full participation by foster children.

Although the Friends conduct annual fundraising events, including the current “Kicks for Kids” shoe drive, donations from community members are most welcome and appreciated throughout the year, and are used for a variety of needs that are not provided by the state or the children’s’ foster families.

Olympic View Community Foundation is proud to serve as the Fiscal Sponsor for this caring group of local volunteers who provide for the needs of some of our county’s most vulnerable children.
